I thought I had my HUD fixed, but after closing the compass app, my Lane Departure Alert does not work. I have checked all the noxes on the display and everything is on as far as I can determine. Nothing is blocking the camera area. Any suggestions before I am back to the dealer?

So when you turn on LDA, it should also display on the multi-function display not just the HUD. Do you see the parallel lines on there? the best way to know if its turned on is if you are driving below 32 mph and you turn on LDA it should give you a warning message saying it only works above 32mph.

Hmm.. There is no way to turn off the sound from the settings so yeah there might be something wrong with the speaker that the sound is coming from. So when you cross the line and it corrects itself there is no beep beep beep sound, right? You have to take it into the dealer and let them check it out.

So the LDA only works when it can detect the lanes. When you turn on LDA, do you see the lanes solid white? If not, then it's not going to warn you or use steer assist. Also, in the MID, you can turn off steering assist and just have the warning. Go into the settings on MID, then LDA, and make sure steering assist is on.

RESOLVED...Sorry Everybody. It definitely was a human error. Although all the instrument displays showed the LDA and steering assist were all set as "on", there is a physical button on the left side down low on the dash (beside instrument light dimmer) that i must have hit while cleaning that turns the LDA on and off. I suspect the original poster had the same issue. Problem solved. Thank you everyone for sharing your ideas.

I have a 2018 Toyota Highlander having similar LDA problems with the LDA adjustment on steering wheel and even setting sensitivity of LDA to “ high” setting and restoring to all original “ default” status Iam still without LDA and both mirrors fail to defect lateral presence of a vehicle. Has someone experienced this problem and if so can it be resolved without taking the vehicle out of warranty to be victimized by the old “ got to diagnose this problem “ BS by the typical dealers.
