The cover will. Other than cosmetics it may hold a tiny bit of heat and reduce noise but nothing you would notice. If you look on the top of your engine you’ll see there are two posts that about probably about a half inch wide that the cover slides onto.

Actually its the Lexus NX not sure if its the same 2.0 engine or not.

The NX 200t/300 is powered by a 2.0 L 8AR-FTS turbocharged four-cylinder direct injection engine that can run on both Otto and Atkinson cycles. This engine has Lexus' ESTEC D-4ST (Economy with Superior Thermal Efficient Combustion Direct injection 4-stroke with Turbo) fuel injection.
