location of keyless module

I recently purchased an 03 t3 tundra. The po had lost both of the key fobs. I would like to get a couple replacements but you need to know the fccid # to get a match from ebay or other. this is a way cheaper option than the dealer. Although toyota knows your fccid# from your vin-they wont tell you what it is so they can sell you the remotes. It occurs to me that the matching fccid# is probably printed on the label on the keyless entry module in the vehicle. Could someone confirm that and point out behind which panel or part of the dash I might find it?
thanx

Seems to me I asked that same question here years ago and if my memory serves me right the remote module is right under the steering panel.
I too have the same problem I bought a remote for my 02 Tundra but the remote did not work with that truck. Could not find the module so now I own an 04 Tundra DB cab. I just got in from trying to program the remote and got to the point of clearing the codes by the door going thru a lock/unlock cycle but my remote does not do anything.
What do the numbers represent on the remote ? Do they have to match the module under the steering column?

Good Luck

fccid number

so your truck came with no remotes as mine did? if you had a rermote come with it, just buy another with the same fccid number found on the back of the remote. I was guessing that the fccid number would also be listed on the entry computer but i could be wrong. I was thinking that there was a very large number of possible fccid numbers but i was wrong. There more i searched ebay for key fob remotes, the more that i started to realize that there are only like 10 or so possibe fccid numbers across the entire toyota family. It seemed that all trucks 2000- 2004 seemed to have the same number. all 2006-2010 rav4 had the same number and so on. on a hunch, i took one of my 2004 tacoma remotes and did the programming procedure on my 2003 tundra and it worked fine. the only odd thing is that now that fob locks and unlocks both trucks simultaneously if the trucks are near each other. the fccid number for these trucks is
bab237131-056. not sure but the doublecabs might be in the next group of fccid numbers. I will have a look and get back to you. If you bump into anybody with a similar 04 doublecab, just write down their number from their fob and get one the same.

fccid number

I just scanned ebay and it looks like the 04-06 tundra uses the next series in the fccid numbers. it should be fcc id: hyq12bbx
ic:1551a-12bbx

hope this helps. If this is the code on the fob you are using, then i am not sure what the problem is, unless you are messing up the program sequence in some way.
