Lower Control Arm Bolt

I have a 02 Highlander, V6, 2wd, 170,000 miles and was working on the brakes. I have read many discussions on the lower control arms in this forum, so I thought I would take a look at mine. The bushings are worn out and cracked as expected. Then I saw this bolt sticking out of the frame on both sides! I thought "Oh no" looks like a problem to me, especially from what I have read about replacing the control arms. Does anybody have any thoughts if this will be a problem in replacing the control arms? I did read a discussion on a caged nut breaking loose. Does this have any connection to this nut? Here are some pics.

I could be wrong, but looks like the engine mount to me. There are normally plastic caps there to protect that nut from road debris. They have 3 bolts accessible under the frame, and one top nut that attaches it to the engine.

The only thing not stock is missing plastic caps. Looks like you don't have this thing called "Winter", lol.

Start spraying it with penetrating oil

Use an impact wrench set to a lower setting or lower PSI and it should come out no problem.

Thanks, I'll try that. I just bought a impact wrench too, that should work. What you can't see with the pic, is that the bolts are at an angle, their not straight.

The big angled bolts are the fasteners that hold the LCA to the subframe. One of them is covered by the motor mount, which is what makes LCAs such a fun job on this vehicle.
