The link didn't work but I am very curious to see what it looks like. Seems like everyone says that it looks the best out of the 10 brands out there that fit our cars!

Functionally I assume they are all the same.

There's a diff. between I4 and V6 no? I've always thought there was, but sellers on Ebay never seem to distiguish between them. My concern would be clearance.
From those eBayer's, they aren't aware of any differences between the I4 and V6. It seems like there is clearance for the 5SFE and 3VZFE (which I have the latter), but perhaps not so with the 1MZFE in the Gen3. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if Henry had any clearance problems on his 3VZFE. :

Yeah, I didn't have much clearance with my 3VZ, the intake manifold (plenum?) used to rub the underside of the strut bar under hard acceleration and cornering. There was like 1 cm or < .5 inch of clearance. I reversed the mounts on the strut bar as recommended by many Camryman people (about 2 years ago), the clearance was about 2 cm or so. Then I stuck a thin washer under one bolt of the strut mount plate and that helped at bit. Now the strut bar touches the hood! I can't win. I'm pretty sure for the 4 cyl there's plenty of room.

If you guys want to buy OBX strut bars, get them from PPSonline.net...they're like $40-45 Cdn...plus about $8 shipping! That's a good deal man! The guys name is Wayne....

Yeah, you're right, there isn't much room between the brace and plenum. Did you hear any type of sound during hard acceleration? I sometimes hear this "knock", but I thought may be it's due the manual transmission shifting. I bought mine off eBay for $53 USD shipped, so that price is definitely cheaper.

From talking to Dickson and Ben (CamryRR) it sounds like the TRD strut tower brace is the thickest and might even fit a gen 3! I might try a test fit if someone is willing to lend me theirs!

The strut bars for Gen3's are pretty much all same...I'm sure there's only one manufacturer and then companies stick their own name on it...I'm sure the OBX bar is the same as my Freedom Design bar...but mine's wrapped in CF.

Sure, if you come to Chicago, we'll be happy to lend you one of the THREE available... Better yet, I'll try that tomorrow morning and let you know the conclusion.

Hey thanks man! Either the bar will fit right on or new holes will have to be drilled in the mounts. But seems like there is a way to get it in there.

CamryRR is the nearest guy to me with the TRD fstb and he is 650 kms away!

Thanks for your help Luc. Lemme know what happens.

Hey, Chicago is only about 8 hours away...

Ok Anish, I just tried the TRD strut brace on the Gen3, and... (1) The holes fit on with no modifications needed, and there is definitely enough clearance between the brace and "engine." (2) HOWEVER, the hood will not close. Since the bar is elevated for the S/C belt to pass under it, this makes the bar higher than it needs to be. Even when I was just gently letting the hood down to clamp it, I see it flexing near the wiper washer area.

Thus, no luck in getting the hood to close with the TRD strut brace, my final answer.

DAMN!!! So close though! Everything else worked out!

There is nothing that we can do about the clearance to make it fit??

Thus, no luck in getting the hood to close with the TRD strut brace, my final answer.
