For those of you that have the 16" TRD FJ wheels (silver or anthracite) do you know or remember what style lug nuts they came with? Were they different than the ones you ran with your stock alloys? Thanks
Just to be clear on lug nuts. I have a '08 Tacoma with the 17" Sport Package Alloys. I'm putting on a set of snow tires using 16" Steel rims off a '07 Tacoma. Can I use the existing alloy lug nuts with the steel rims?yes, they have a built in washer. I just installed mine about an hour ago. They differ from the acorn or tapered type in two ways I can see. first they have a flat seat, second they have another mating surface with the alloy, sort of a round peg in a round hole idea. The lugs fit really well in my opinion. I recommend using the genuine toyota part. I'm glad I went with the fj wheels, they fit really snug on the hub then you install the lugs, and it centers the bejeezus out of the wheel. good strong setup for a 4x4 imo.
yes they look just like those gorrilla deals. Those look like real chrome plating, the toyotas are steel inside, with some sort of a molded stainless sheet metal cover. I think those should work fine.
the lug nuts i saw on the above link are acorn type. they will not fit your alloy wheels.A little off topic, but I'd rather not start a new thread. What size/length do I need if I want to get different lug nuts but keep my stock TRD sport rims?
Specifically I'm looking at getting these black ones, but I'm not sure which ones I need exactly. They are upper right, and lower right in the window.
