Maintenance required message on dash

2025 camry se 9500 miles
Maintenance required soon message on dash.
Thought it was related to needing an oil change which was almost due.
Changed oil and reset oil life counter.
Message still appears.
Read manual. The only Maintenance due is check a few things and replace cabin air filter.
Read manual some more.
Found how to reset Maintenance required soon message.
Reset this message.
Am I right to assume that this message came on to tell me the cabin filter needed changing and other suggested items for 10,000 miles or is there something else going on?

There are 2 things you can reset the maintenance for - oil and regular, make sure to do both.

The maintenance required and oil change reminders are "dumb" messages that appear purely based on mileage and have to be reset manually. They have no real connection to the actual state of the vehicle.

For oil, they could have actually made it based on mileage OR time. Oil should be changed at least once a year regardless of mileage driven. they chose not to make the reminder that useful though.

No scan tool needed to reset. Can be reset in a similar manner to resetting other displays, like trip odometers or MPG numbers. The owner’s manual describes how to do it. Good luck! bob
