Hello.

I had been facing an issue where I cannot find the recommended gear oil for my Corolla S 2014 manual 6 gears transmission.

In the user manual they recommend:
"Toyota genuine manual transmission oil LV"

Which even the official Toyota dealer don't have it...

So I was looking into alternative models with same specs and grade.

Untill now I found these in the local market , are these compatible?
K2 matic 80w-90 GL5.
BP SAE 140 API GL-4

Any help is highly appreciated

Toyota manual trans LV is typically a GL4 in one of 75W, 75W80, or 75W85 in increasing viscosity grade aka thickness.

One may opt for thicker 75W90 or 80W90 for higher protection levels.

GL5 may be used but likely to be prone to smoothness in shiftabiity , though it provides higher protection level for similar viscosity grade of a GL4.

Thank you for your response guys.

What about this ?

Is it an exact perfect replacement like recommend in the user manual?

For a manual transmission, you will want to stay away from GL5. GL5 is great for hardened hypoid gears (such as those in differentials), but the high level of sulfur/phosphorus compounds used in GL5 will more rapidly attack the synchronizers in a manual transmission. GL4 uses lower levels of sulfur/phosphorus compounds, so the gear protection is reduced a bit, but the rate of attack on the synchroizers is reduced also. GL4 is typically recommended for manual transmissions utilizing synchronizers. If you have older manual transmissions that don't use synchronizers, the GL5 would be recommended for those kinds of transmissions.
