ok so i noticed today that back half of my passenger side side skirt...i found that my screw clip on the rear and two of the black plastic clips on the the far end are also missing....so i went to the dealer and they told me that the screw clip is like a dollar and change and then the black clips on the inside will be around 4 and change a piece...now he instructed me in saying that sometimes toyota sends these clips in a "10 pack" and if it comes that was i have to buy all ten...ok so if this is correct it's gunna cost me around 50.00 bucks to fix this??? that seems crazy...i was thinking about for the time being just putting maybe a bolt and nut on the rear part just to keep the skirt from hanging...did any of you guys ever run across these clips breaking or falling off? i didn't hit anything....any suggestions on what to do? or maybe were i can buy single parts? thanks...here are pics of the missing clips...

That's dealer BS at its finest. They want you to buy all 10 so they don't get stuck with excess parts inventory they can't sell. Go to another dealer. Better yet, order online from one of our dealers in the supporting vendor section and I'll bet they can get it for a fraction of the cost this dealer quoted you.

yeah i kinda figured as much...i'll have to get the part numbers from the guy so i can look online...there is another dealer not too far from here, i'll have to check em' out and see what they say as well...like i said i didn't hit anything..i was just surprise they went missing the cars only 4 months old :headbang:

I noticed that a front clip under my car was missing last year & the dealer replaced it under warranty, yours should be the same if your car is only 4 months old. I wish they still used bolts & nuts as they stay put together. I was changing the oil on my Previa today & I noticed how everything was screws or bolts/nuts which is the best way. If they won't fix it under warranty than I would find a bolt/nut combo that will keep it together.

yeah I called the service dept and they said it would be covered if it not due to "user damage" now I did notice there are some light scuffs on the skirt, most likely from driving around and over icey snow for the past few weeks. so knowing them they'd probably blame me for it. but yeah I may go the bolt and nut route on at least two of the holes.

I'm not sure what it's like in the USA for ordering clips, but up here in Canada most clips do NOT have an SPQ (sell package quantity), so you can order them individually. Find another dealer, or order online.

yeah so the other local dealer will sell me single clips. they said they don't believe in having the customer have to buy the whole lot. so all in all it'll cost me like 12 bucks :) no hopefully I dont break any trying to put them back on :)
