Trying to install a new amplifier in my car so im fixing the electrical system in my car because of voltage drop and my speakers cutting off when a particularly heavy bass note plays.

I upgraded the alt to a 290a alt and did a big 3, alt to battery positive, battery ground, and engine block ground to chassi. But idk if i upgraded the correct engine ground point because i still have issues with dimming lights and my regular speakers cutting off briefly when listening to music. (Altho it is considerably better than what it was doing with my stock alt, it still happens)

My battery is an xspower D1200 agm, and all big 3 wires are 0 gauge. My sub and amp only put out 250w so tye 290a alt shouldnt have any trouble powering them at all.

It would be appreciated if someone could send me to any sort of documents or diagrams online for ground points on my engine so i can solve this! Been a headache for a minute now, thought the alt was the only issue lol

Sorry no diagram, just found the list via this sites search.
Here is the actual ground list:

EA Front Right Fender
EB/EC Left Side of the Cylinder Head
ED Front left Suspension Tower
IE/IF Behind the Combination meter
IG Right Kick Panel
BH Under the Left Quarter Pillar
BI Lower back panel
BJ Under the Right Quarter Pillar

No inline capacitor, and i sanded ground points with a wire brush. However i did not use a lock washer for the connections, i could go and get some from home depot in the morning and test it. Battery voltage at idle is around 14.6v to 14.7v. When bass note hits it drops to about 13.7v 13.8v ish volts. I checked amp ground for my sub, and its showing a proper 14.6v with the meter.

Do you think it could be related to my wire harness for my headunit or something? I get slight headlight dimming but only the speakers being powered by my headunit cut off for bass notes. Altho the radio never losses power during this, only speakers briefly

No, no battery light, however weirdly enough the voltage doesnt drop below 13.7v when a bass hit rolls in and it shoots right back up to 14.6v. I checked the 2 grounds i upgraded (battery neg, and engine ground) which all showed normal voltage when i used a multimeter. Im afraid it might be a wire or ground related to the harness thats attached to my head unit or something

Ill give it a nice scrub on the contacts some more, mabye ittle help. Got a lithium coming in from glowe, but i dont know if that would do anything to help my issue, kinda scared of stressing my alternator out if its improper wiring. If its doing this on a 200w amp its not gonna be able to supply 2800w from a jp23 im wanting to use

As for the harness, im not totally sure how they were connected. Previous owner put in that headunit, ill take it out tomarow when i have the chance. Trying to balance work and this car issue lol
