So I have a 2001 avalon xls and I replaced the coolant sensors, both of them and the temp guage reads not in the middle like all cars but 1 line above the C. Also my heater don't work.
Coolant is filled
The 2 metal pipes leading into the firewall are both hot.
The actuator thing I can see rotates up and down when adjusting the ac heater temp.
Have not yet checked thermostat. Anyone got any ideas?

System may have air trapped in it still. the gauge readings are just reference points and vary car to car and sender to sender.
Also Toyota's don't like after- market senders/sensors if that's what you might have installed.
Is the blower working correctly and if so is the air being directed to the proper vents?

The A/C blows good, air comes from proper vents. I did install aftermarket cheaper sensors.
EDIT: Could it be the blend door actuator, even though when I scale the temp up or down I see the thing rotate?
Today I'm going to drain all coolant, and thermostat and replace and see what happens winter is coming and I need the heater haha.
