So i just finished replacing the drum brakes and one wheel cylinder, all new hardware, the light wasn’t on before the job, brakes don’t seem to be dragging but im not 100% sure, I don’t want my shoes to wear prematurely because that’s the reason I had to replace them, all the shoes we’re fine but one and it was onl wore at the bottom, brake fluid is low at the moment from bleeding but I would imagine the trucks not that high tech to tell me the brake fluid is low, cause she’s only an 89 5 speed 4x4 so my questions are why is the light on? will they wear prematurely? and how do I fix this

Actually, there's a sensor on top of the master cylinder that registers the fluid level and will illuminate the brake indicator light when the fluid is too low. You can either top it off and see if the light goes out or you can test it by unplugging the sensor. My bet is that the light will go out when you top off the master cylinder. ;)
