1997 Camry 2.2l LE

Having a hard time identifying this part. We took apart both front doors to access the door handles (they were both broken when we got the Camry), and unfortunately one of the door latch rod clamps broke.
We bought a part (69749-32030) thinking we were getting the correct one but that is the middle piece in the picture, and we need the top one.

Any help appreciated.

Haha, true. Thing is, I don't feel like opening up the door trim again, so am hoping it will HOLD.

Side note: both doors have their outside handles removed; car in garage, doors left open...but for the life of me, I couldn't help myself from closing the door every time I walked past --> DOH!!!!

I believe the part is 69759-AC010. See the part with group number 69759L below:

To confirm, put the Camry's VIN in here: TOYOTA | Japan Parts EU. Drill down to Body, then "Front Door Lock Handle." On the drawing, click on the group part number for details.

I admit I do not like the images that come up for 69759-AC010.

Possibly take the drawing and old part to the dealer to make sure they nail it.

I would go to a salvage yard for this.

Yeah, I found that part number too, but ALL the pictures seem completely wrong.
Salvage yard sounds like a good bet, although those might be very brittle too, just like the one we broke.
let me try your VIN link....

(Thanks!)

I agree with the most recent posts - looks like 69759-AC010 (see attached parts diagram). But there are some photos on the internet that say the object is 69759-AC010, and it doesn't look anything like the connector in your first picture. But from this diagram, it is used on a link that is straight (not bent 90 deg). So I really don't know either. But getting one from a salvage car is probably your best bet.

Cheers.
Maybe it's a bad picture: the rod/link is indeed straight, not bent.

So it appears that actual part # is 69759-AC010, but there is a decent possibility that whatever item would get sent, is axtually wrong.

Pig, see if you can get a parts department to send a picture of what their distributor has?

I have had good luck at salvage yards finding door lock-rod clips that are intact and have plenty of "spring" and flexibility left in them. Granted I find plenty that also crumble.

Putting the (alleged) p/n into toyodiy.com says that 1996-2001 Camrys use the part, both four-cylinder and six-cylinder.

I think I am going to use the ones I posted an Amazon link to above. I have them here now, and although the mounting hole isn't quite right, I think I can make it work.
Both of your suggestions are good though, and would have likely worked also.
