I am in the middle of installing Eibach Pro-Kit springs, and Tokico HP strut inserts on my 1992 4cyl Camry, to find out that I have SEALED struts, not serviceable ones. Everthing I had read in the BGB and in Haynes said 92-94 Camrys have serviceable struts and 95-96 Camrys have sealed struts, well, after searching this forum I found out the only way to tell is to look on your car..:hammer: I am going to post a picture of my struts just to make sure I am not an idiot, can someone please verify that I do indeed have sealed struts, I will probably be posting the new Tokico HP strut inserts on the for sale section or on Ebay and once they sell buy new struts.

You CAN use Sealed Ones on your car. I think you just need to change the Mount to a diff one I heard, not sure. I'd recommend switching to the NON-Serviceable ones for future ease of use.

I've been visiting several salvage yards here in Knoxville, and I think I've found the answer to the "Which 92-94 Camrys have serviceable struts and which have sealed ones?" question. The only Camry that I was able to find that had serviceable struts was a Japanese manufactured one with a VIN number starting with JT2, all the others with sealed struts are the American assembled ones with VIN starting with 4T1SK...

I spoke to someone at a yard today that said maybe inside the sealed struts are threads that are made to receive the nut in that comes with the Tokico inserts, I don't think Toyota would have required a pipe cutter to cut open the struts to install new inserts, but just an idea from someone I spoke to about my issue.

Get the '95 struts. They'll fit your Gen3. I have a 93 and that's what i'm using. They are tokico's sealed struts.

edit: btw, if it makes you feel better, i was in the exact same position when i went to install my struts. should probably throw a section on this in the Camry FAQ.
