Hopefully someone here has had a similar problem and can help. Anyway, I've got a 95 Camry 4cyl. and recently the power steering system has been failing more and more frequently. The only way I know how to describe the symptoms are a steering bumping, as in I turn the wheel some, it bounces back a little, turns more, bounces back a little, like if somebody was hitting the steering column with a hammer. It started off with just on very cold days before the engine would warm up. Then it would do it in the cold and in hard rain. Now, it will do it on and off almost constantly. We flushed the whole system once and cleaned the filter, that helped temporarily. Then we changed the belt, which didn't do anything. So, now I'm trying to decide what should be done next, to check and replace the pump, check and replace the steering gearbox, or is there another thing that should be done. Hopefully someone here knows a little more about this than me. Thanks.
