I'm considering a Tacoma in the near future and assumed I'd get a 4x4 until I figured out what a pre-runner is. It looks the same and heard for all practical purposes won't get stuck in regular driving with the locking diff. I live in Iowa where we get some snow and would take it ice-fishing in MN on some lakes but imagine the pre-runner would do me just fine, right?
Anyone regret getting a pre-runner and wish they would've had a 4x4? Are there advantages (other than initial cost of 3K) to a pre-runner such as MPG and less weight?
Thanks
