Question: Do all Camry's starting in 2019 Have CVT or some type of CVT.
I'm aware the 2025's are all hybrid and all CVT.
My question is pretty specific.
A 2024 or 2023 Camry, SE, 8 Speed Transmission, I4 engine. Does it have CVT components or is it truly a normal 8 speed transmission?

Also, I've been told to stay away from anything CVT. Any opinions about the new Hybrids with CVT, or even the older years with CVT?

All non-Hybrid 2018+ Camry models have a conventional 8-speed automatic transmission... All Hybrid Camry models have a eCVT (Planetary Gear - Power Split Device), rather than a CVT (Pulley-based, steel belt driven) as used on non-Hybrid 2019+ Corolla models.

Just look at used eCVT prices. You can get them for $200 which shows that they rarely fail. Look at junkyards and you will see taxi cabs get over half a milion miles of city driving. Many mechanics will tell you they have never worked on one. I traded my 2018 8speed for 2023 hybryd and I love this car now. I loved my 2018 except for it's 8speed trans which was horrible. The eCVT is far superior then 8speed.
