I love the tech in this car, but couldn't figure out why to have a remote starter.


I did get a hybrid and the demo I tried with the remote didn't do anything.

I would like a remote stater for my 2013 Avalon XLE Hybrid for use in the winter. Push the button and 5 minutes later get into a warm defrosted car...sound nice.

BUT will a Hybrid system run the gas motor long enough to get the heater warm?

 

Yes.

 

My 2013 Avalon XLE Touring came with it and I really thought I would never use it. I have found that being able to cool off or warm up the car before I leave my office is a real bonus. I garage my car at night so I don't need it in the AM, just after I leave the office. I'm lucky that I can park my car right outside the window of my office so right before I start to wind down the computer and get my stuff together I hit the button for remote start and am good to go. The only complaint, which is minor, is that I wish the car would not turn off when you open the door. I'm not exactly sure why they have this programmed this way, but I would prefer to just open the door and go.

It's a security feature in case someone decided to break the window, open the door and drive your warmed up car away ...

 

nah , real reason was because the Factory Toyota Remote Starter would limit your key fob severely to like less than 50ft range. so youd have to go aftermarket.
