Greetings: I found about three post telling me the color and location of a reverse wire and all them seem to be wrong! I need help finding the reverse wire so I can hook up my reverse camera. I have 2009 Corolla S
model. One post tells me it is located at driver's fuse box, another post tells me it's located drivers kick panel and another one on the passenger side behind the glove box.:headbang:
Also, I am confused what the harness or pins look like. Can someone tell me the exact color and location. A picture would be great.
Thanks
Kimbers:chug:

Yes, that is what I did for the actual camera, but in order to make the head unit switch automatically to the camera, I needed a signal that told the HU that the car was in reverse. This for me, this was cleaner to run the wire over there instead of running a wire from the HU all the way back to the tail light.

Part of the reason I did it the way I did was I didn't have the reverse camera when I got the HU so at the time i didn't have any wires ran to the tail light, and I didnt know if the HU needed that reverse signal or not.

I guess I could have ran another wire with the RCA that was going to the HU... Oh well Its done with now.... and it works.

sorry to bring up a old thread, but i just installed a pioneer hu and i also purchased a reverse cam, turns out it was meant for the 08 corolla not 09  so i am ordering a new one. my question is how do you do the wiring to the hu from the tail light? or how do i wire the hu so it knows when the cars in reverse, sorry electrical just isnt my thing

okay. for power you would tap into the power wire of the reverse light. you'd then run the video cable up to the headunit, plugged into the appropriate port, the pioneer i had, had a specific brown port. for your head unit to sense whether the car is in reverse or not, this is where you'd tap into the reverse wire found in the fuse box, as shown in the picture above. the pioneer headunit should have a purple wire tagged as reverse, and you'd use that one. for the wires you want to tap into, use a t-tap connector, then the wire connecting to it would have a male head that inserts into the t-tap connector.
