how?

 

i was going around a corner. and the stupidass in front of me stopped to like a complete stop right after the turn and i stepped on the brakes and tried to switch lanes but my brakes locked and i slid into the curb (center divider)


idk if its fixable.....or worth it to fix it.


i know the control arm is broken. im sure all the suspension needs replacing tooo. i think the brakes are probably fine and the hub might be ok too but if u notice the big puddle under the car....gear oil.....and the tow truck driver said the axle was ripped out of the tranny but he couldnt see where the oil was coming from.


just curious....will a 2zz transmission fit on the 1zz motor? cuz if i gotta replace the tranny might as well get a 6 spd

 

by the way, those duraflex bumpers really are as strong as they say they are. that curb mangled my tire but somehow managed to only scuff the paint on the bumper.

 

it's not dead. take it home and start taking it apart and see what broke then replace it. your rack might need to be replaced.

 

heres my problem-- i couldnt afford a tow truck so i had to call the police. and the cop said my license is suspended for an unpaid ticket :headbang: (i knew i had something important i had to pay i just completely forgot about it!)

he didnt give me a ticket but he impounded my car and put a 30 day hold on it...which is gonna cost me 1026$ after 30 days, idk if im gnna have that. but thats besides the point....there was a puddle of gear oil under the car leading me to think the tranny is probaby fudged.

 

meh. i guess ill save on gas and hopefully if i get this new job ill have the 1026$ the impound is gonna cost. i at least need to get it sittin on my driveway.....im going to the impound yard to grab my tools and some other stuff outta the car....and im gonna survey the damage a little bit more. the cop wouldnt let me look at it much cuz it was in the middle of the road. im just hoping that all it is is the control arm and a few other things....like the oil seal where the axle goes in and such./

thanks. although im sure your car had WAAAAY more money put into it, i just bought this car like 5 months ago so i still have like 8000$ to pay off and its gonna suck to pay for a car that i dont own....that is if its not fixable.

i really dont know yet. how could i even find out if its fixable? its hard to even get under the car and look at it cuz the bumpers touching the ground.

Damn that sux and I'm sure the impound didn't help

 

*sigh* my 30 days is up in a week from tomorrow. i'll have the car outta impound and post more detailed pics of the damages. and maybe collect suggestions of where to go from there

 

That really sucks, glad there wasn't a warrant for your arrest for unpaid tickets. It happens sometimes, but glad you're okay. The oil is probably coming from the rack & pinion or like you said, the tranny, but I doubt it. Most likely it's either the rack & pinion or your oil gasket.

 

the axle was ripped from the tranny which could cause the oil to leak out. i smelled the oil, it was defnitely gear oil
