Krown's a well know company that does annual oil sprays... you might be eligible for their warranty if you meet certain requirements. They have gotten pretty good reviews and your car should easily last 5 years.

I used Krown for 2 years in Toronto. No rust found under the car. good product.

 

I always go to my detailer buddy and get them to do their magic once a year.

$100 for full service.

(Wash, Wax, Carpet Shampoo, Rust Protection, Scratch & Minor Paint Repairs)

My GTX was rust free from doing that, and my XRS will be the same.

Try going to a detailer shop and see what they offer. Those guys specialize in making cars look good for the duration of the car's life.

I went to Canadian Tire and bought a can of Rustcheck rustproofing and did it myself. The rustproofing places charge anywhere from $69 to $110 to do the job, but that is mostly overhead, labour and profit. The actual product they give you is a little oil. It is so cheap that the oil spray places overspray your car and it leaks out all over the place. The most important places to rustproof on your car is the bottom edge of the doors and inside the front fenders. There places can easily be sprayed with oil from a can. I use half a can at the begging of the winter and then the other half I apply in the summer. All you have to do is to spray the oil up into the drain holes of the door, to the right, left and then up the door, The fenders can be sprayed from the interior of the engine compartment.

Has anyone used the undercoating from Dynamat that is supposed to be a good soundproofing option as well as rustproofing?

 

nothing. i live next to lake michigan, lots of lake effect snow and tons of salt. my last 2 toyotas went 10+ yrs, over 200k miles with very minimal, if any rust. i just wash when possible in the winter. i just dont think there is anything out there that truly adds much to what is currently done in the factories.
