Got my letter in the mail today to get my second key. I hope everyone else gets there’s soon!

I didn't get mine until February 2023, so I imagine that I have a while to wait. As a matter of curiosity, what does the letter say? Does it specify that you get your key from the dealership where you got your car? I suppose you have to produce the letter to prove that you are entitled to a key, right?

I got my 2023 Rav4 WoodLand Edition December 16th and received the notification about the key fob in the Toyota app last week(28th of August). So, I contacted part division of a dealer in Farmington Hills, they said that VIN number is required, so they asked me to make a service appointment. So, I tried to contact service part, but, it didn't. So, last Saturday morning, I dropped by there and then let a service manager see the notification of the App. He said that right now, there is no key part, it needs to be ordered and will call me back when it would be ready on Wednesday, and fortunately I got the call on time and made the appointment on Friday morning(Today, 8th of September).
It took about 2 hours to get the second fob programmed.

So, I don't think that we need to wait for the letter if you have the notification on the app.

After a 4.5 month wait after delivery, I got this message in the Toyota app. Our build month was May, so about a month earlier before the scheduled date of 1st quarter of 2024 for 2nd key. So I'll drive over to the dealer tomorrow to get this ordered. So 4.5 months from order to delivery, then 4.5 months to order a 2nd key.

Today I went to my 1:30 appointment for the second key fob & 5000 service....... and returned home WITHOUT the FOB. Service guy said there were many requests for the 2nd fob late last month for Dec install, and supposedly mine DID NOT come. I told him since this is year 2023, I'd be willing to bet Toyota's ordering & inventory system would not allow that, and if there was a problem, why didn't you call me this morning to reschedule? He had NO answer. I then sat around while they performed the 5000-mile service and left. I have purchased 5 new Toyota's since Feb 2009 from this location. 2009 Corolla"S", 2010 Venza, 2013 Rav4 XLE, 2016 Highlander Ltd, 2023 Venza Ltd, and all from same salesperson, except a new dealership owner arrived about 2 years ago. It's something that shouldn't happen in this day & age, yet it did, and the frosting was no phone call this morning. I told him that someone should be on the phone this afternoon and ordering a fob, and since Toyota has inconvenienced thousands of customers, they should have a fob air freighted to dealer by Thursday, for a Friday install, this week That probably went right through their ears.
So call before you go get yours.

UPDATE: Today Wed 12/06 the phone rang at 8:16am. It was our Toyota dealership. I was told they have received our 2nd key fob. Amagine that, dealer got one in 2 days. So, I'll be heading over there next Monday 12/11 to get it paired to our Venza. I still think dealer got several of them in stock all at once, and somehow ours got "assigned" to some other Venza customer.

Today I finally got my 2nd key fob. I only took about 30 min total. Venza was built in May, and actually got it early, as we were not expected to get it until sometime in the 1st quarter 2024. Now I don't have to share with the better half, so now I can program the fob to my memory seat position.

Do they give you the metal key insert when they give you the second fob?
I got the 2nd fob but didn’t get the emergency key that goes into the fob.
We received an extra metal key, the one that slips into the key fob, when we took delivery of our Venza. They just didn't give us the second fob that it goes in until last week.

Hopefully you received a fob (with a key inside) and the little metal key when you got yours.

We received a notice that our 2nd key fob was available on the Toyota App the first week of December. That was ahead of their previously published schedule that indicated it would be available sometime Q1 2024. Nice. So we dropped it off at the dealer a couple of weeks later for an appointment to have our infotainment system head unit replaced. They programmed the fob at the same time. Identical to the original, put our metal key inside and it works perfectly (as does our infotainment system now). (y)

We received this letter in the mail today. Left hand? Meet right hand. :sneaky:
