also when you lock doors using touch on handle, 1 ou of 10 times it double beeps instead of single beep... even dough the door is lock!

problem I see is dealers dont know how to deal with software updates... as far as I am concern, should be free on web or at least free as part of teh oil change...

 

Actually, it might be quite normal. That Denso climate control unit is possessed with mind of its own, inspired by Japanese mentality designers. Many things there do NOT turn on or off when YOU want them.

Be VERY careful with s/w updates!!

Any software update will have an associated Technical Service Bulletin describing the problem or application to be fixed. In many cases, software updates are only part of the full repair process. You should not attempt to apply any software updates without fully understanding the information contained in the Technical Service Bulletin.

 

Basically what it's saying, the ONLY update available will be if there were a specific s/w issue with a particular feature, recognized by Toyota and dedicated update produced by Toyota. So don't just hop onto updating wagon.

 

Yeah, I get that - I didn't even get that far though - I entered my VIN and it doesn't recognise it - as such, it probably doesn't have any details for Australian vehicles...

So unless I have a specific case number etc it won't give me anything

 

Yeah, won't let you mess your vehicle for good. Just let it be. Like I said, Denso climate control units are weird designed.
If it doesn't cost you too much, you can go to dealer and have the system reflashed completely. Might fix whatever you feel is broken.

 

That cable and s/w that came with it don't work. I am returning it. So keep that in mind.
