Hey all,
I am helping my girlfriend get a slightly better sound system then what she currently has. Right now she has a cassette player with stock speakers, not the prettiest sounding system.
I work at a distributor that carries primarily Pioneer stuff for car audio so I am definitely going that route. I am trying to avoid getting an amp as those add an additional cost to the system and she doesn't want subs anyways. We did have some Pioneer REVs however I heard they sound much better with an amp so i dumped those.
What I am planning to do is this...
Install a Pioner DEH-P7700MP for 191.80 for the deck... what do I need to do in order for this to fit. Can I pick up a kit somewhere reasonably priced?
For the front speakers I was thinking Pioneer TSA-1680R 6.5" 40W Nominal / 220W for $43.60, however I am willing to step up to the TSA-A1780R oversized 6.5" 50W Nominal / 240W max IF they fit without a lot of adjustment. The depth of the oversized speakers at 2.5inches, Cartoys.com says the 95 Camry has a 3" depth.
Back speakers I have selected the Pioneer TSA-6970R 50W Nominal / 240W max for $42.60.
Anyone have any experience of these products. The wattage should be okay as the deck will supply 50W to each speaker, so the nominal of the speakers being at 50 should make things sound pretty well.
I might install dual 10s in the future and at that time I will go looking at amps, but I really don't want to do that right now.
Any suggestions are welcome, however I am pretty stuck with Pioneer. I am really looking for installation tips and techniques. What are some things to avoid / I should prepare for... etc. My first time working on a Camry and since I am getting a Camry soon as well... this is good practice (plus its not my car hehehehe).
