Steering intermediate shaft replacement under extended warranty?

Guys,

We have a 2012 Highlander and have an extended warranty that is good for another 20K miles. We've started noticing the knocking/clunking that is the steering intermediate shaft issue from the TSB. Does anyone know if extended warranties generally cover this? I mean, if my car stopped steering, I know it would be covered. The fact that it is making an annoying noise may not be. And I guess that is my question. Has anyone gotten it replaced under an extended warranty? Yes, I plan to take it to the dealer but I wanted to find out people's experience here first. I'm also waiting a bit so it can become even louder/more pronounced.

Thanks in advance!

I know! That's why I want to get it fixed. It was sold to me by the dealership, but it is a third party. They paid to have a door lock actuator fixed that was intermittently failing. Other than that, I haven't attempted to use it. It sounds like the dealer just has to verify that there is an issue, but I dunno.

I have the Toyota extended warranty and am bringing my 2013 HL in tomorrow morning for what I think this may be my problem. Can someone elaborate on if this is a noise, feel, or both in the steering wheel? I’ve noticed a feel when I turn the wheel or go up the curb on my driveway. I printed the TSB for the dealer but wondered if this is what I’ve been experiencing.

Thanks!

Yeah, they love you when you opt for additional chargeable services you don't really need.
Someone got a good New Years Bonus.
