Stereo Dash Kit options for Highlander with Factory Nav

Hi everyone,

I have a 2010 Limited with JBL and Navigation and I'd really like to replace the stereo with something that supports CarPlay. According to Crutchfield, there are no dash kits available for the Navigation models. Has anyone run across this and come up with a solution? Any way to modify the non-navigation dash kits? I live in an area with a ton of salvage yards around. I'm thinking maybe I can find a few parts from a Highlander without Navigation to use in the install maybe? I've only had it for a year or so and I really enjoy it so just hoping there are options. Thank you!

Wondering the same. You must buy a PAC or metro Harness pack. And I believe you have to buy the JBL harness and steering wheel harness if you want those to work with the controls in the AMP. I found an Android one on eBay. It likes factory. Just if you have JBL you need the harness and I'm not sound what those head units are compatible with, you'd have to message the seller.

I’m pretty clear on the wiring/harness side. I’m asking specifically about the dash kit. The Metra 98-2222 says that it’s not for Highlander factory Nav models and I’m just trying to understand why and whether there’s a way to modify it it in some way to use with the factory nav models.

There is no Metra 98-2222, but there is the 99-8222. The reason why Crutchfield says it doesn't work is because the hazard / ABS / passenger seat belt indicators are built-in to the factory navigation radio. You can still use the 99-8222 kit, but will need to source the separate indicator panel that fits in the lower opening in the kit.
