Strut Replacement

I just put four new Monroe Struts in my 1992 Corolla and now when it hits a bump it rides like a box of rocks. The rubber gaskets were old and nasty but I was able to fit them under the springs. It rides worse than the old shocks. Maybe I put right side to left and left side to right but I don't think so.
Any thoughts on why the performance dropped so hard?
Thanks

I did not tighten the top nut tight enough- i just eyeballed it and thought it was a lock nut that just had to clear the threads to hold and then the spring tension would be enough. I went out this morning and torqued the top nuts really tight and now it runs fine.
I am glad that I did not have to yank those pigs out again.
A tip for anyone contemplating this job. The brake line has to be removed through the bracket on the strut. If you grind out a 1/2" or so cut in the bracket the brake line can then just slide in instead of taking off the line from the caliper- this does you no good right now but in the future you will just slide thje line off of the strut and you will not have to bleed your brakes.
Glad its done

GTS or ST struts work for the Wagon?

Hello

Any body try using the GT or GTS struts as a "performance" upgrade over new stock KYB replacements?

I am tending to go to a new strut and spring replacement from KYB, Not sure whose spring they use. Also looking for some 14" rims as a performance upgrade.

Am reluctant to go with the lower springs with the resultant bumpy ride.

thanks

i picked up a set of bmw E30 bottle caps, they look right at home on my 4 door, just bolted right on without any issues, same offset as our factory wheels if i'm not mistaken
