Ther eare a number of folks who have upgraded the speakers, and some even added a sub. I also did this. Thanks to another member he first tried to place a sub in the rear pocket storage area. This I also found to be a good spot and a sealed custom fiberglass sub fit nicely.

If you do a search for stereo upgrades you should find some good info. Also use alternate search words, like speakers, or change speakers, etc.

Hello Phil, I think you are the guy with answers since you already overhaul you sound system you may help me with some question that i have.
Well, i have a 2017 Highlander XLE with navigation / No JBL stereo, so, I already replaced all 6 speakers and want to add a 5 channel amp for spekers and a small sub, my question is where can i locate de amp, I'm thinking under one of the front seats but since there is already an A/C vents not sure if it will fit a small amp, if so should fit under left or right seat? if not, do you have any suggestion?
Another question: should i run power cable and speaker cables together or in different path, i did find mixed opinions on this.
If you have any link that i may use please share it.

Thanks in advance for your reply

Hi @blondetmm ,

I put one amp under each seat, and removed the vents(replaceable). I also put one amp in the rear where the jack is..There is a good amount of space on the very left. You also have room under the 2nd row. The rear row is shallow. You can even fit a amp in that large center console.

For ease of access and install I used the front seats and rear compartment.

From what I have learned you want to split those as early as possible, from source. So run power along left and speakers along right. Most importantly find a very good ground.

Post pix of your progress!
