My first battery fail occurred today at 3200 KM on my 2020 Camry SE (Upgrade). It only took 2 days of short drives followed by 2 full days of no driving at all to cause the battery to deplete. Weather was around -2 celsius - not too cold. My 2018 never had a battery depletion - even with 5-7 days of not being used and parked outside in the cold. I scheduled my appointment for the update.

I had the DCM updated and remote services work now. I couldn't tell if I had battery issues as I am driving this car everyday.

Do you know what DCM update you got? Was there a TSB code? I have a 2021 Rav4 XSE And remote connect has not worked for me since I bought it. 800# people never call me back. Dealership service is clueless.

Search web for T-SB-0021-20 Rev.1

This tsb applies to 2020 Camry, Corolla and RAV4. I printed the tsb and handed it to service writer and told him I can't get my remote services to activate. They had to schedule a journeyman to come in and run the update. I had to take my car in about 2 days later to have it done.

The paperwork said customer complaint: Can't activate remote services. Applied T-SB-0021-20, problem no longer exists..... Something along those lines....

If your dealer is still clueless, go somewhere else.

I had my 2020 Camry in on 2/17 for a dead battery and it needed to be jumped. I took it to the dealership and they said “Oh yeah, it needs a software update.” They checked it over, said everything was “fine,” and updated the software. Drove last night and got home at 10pm. This morning (10 days later) the car appeared as if it wasn’t going to start. I immediately took it to the dealership (30 miles). Because it was busy it was parked outside the service bag doors. They started it twice and drove it inside the bay, turned it off, and did the paperwork. The tech got in it to move it and it was as dead as a hammer. Nothing....

My wife bought a 2020 XSE on June 30 2020 after her 2016 XSE with 13k miles got totaled by us being hit head on by a lady running a red light at 40 mph...When she was at work the gardener was edging the grass and something chipped her windshield...Her work had it on video but they wouldn't pay...So claimed it on insurance and on 11/17/20 a new Toyota windshield was put in and everything was re calibrated.....The following week it wouldn't start....Tried jump starting with my 2016 Subaru Legacy, nothing.....AAA was called and jumped started and it was taken in....The TSB was done and battery was recharged...I know because I saw the wipe mark I made when I was wiping down the engine prior to it being sent in....No problems since and it just sits in the garage under a cover with 1375 miles on it....

My 2020 Camry LE's battery died twice. When we bought it (June 2020), it had a dead battery, but it was the only model, trim, color they had, so we took it after they either recharged the battery or swapped it out. 741 miles later, the battery died and they replaced the battery. On Apr 24, 2021, we once again found it dead. I brought it in today and the mentioned it needs a firmware update. Does this have to be done at a dealership, or can it be done outside of a Toyota dealership? (Just thinking I could have saved a trip and a bunch of time).

Hello, and thanks for sharing the .pdf's. My GF just bought a 2021 4c Camry and her outgoing calls stopped (she can still hear incoming calls) after a little searching I found your post. I printed off the docs, ran a health check using TS 17. When I get to "Verify the current firmware version" Refer to TIS-Body Electrical-Telematics-Data List (I can't find that?) Is it in the Menu TSI? Also, should I go into the menu-Setup-Software Update to find this update? I'm new and just don't want to screw this up. Many thanks.

@portcanaverlflorida

are you trying to do the calibration update yourself? i wouldn't recommend it. I posted the TBS so you can take it to your nearest dealer and have them do the update.

Is the techstream software you are using legit or pirated? If its pirated, it won't work since its designed to not connect to toyota servers. So you won't be able to download the files.

Take it to the dealership with the printed out TSB and have them do it.
