Hello. I have an 82 pickup with 22r engine. I changed the thermostat and water pump. I flushed the radiator. The gauge is still reading at high temperature. I live in fl. What is going on? Is it a sensor issue or what?
Start with the cheapest which would be a new radiator cap. Next would be the fan clutch, then the radiator.
How does it overheat? Overheating on the freeway is usually a plugged radiator. Low speed overheating is usually a bad fan clutch.
