Tint is sick!

My tinter goes to LV every year for some tint convention. They have a "tint-off" to see who is the best tinter for the year. Pretty sick!

Tint is a must for me. I feel weird in a car without it. I got my truck tinted the next business day after I bought it.

I have 20% on the front 2 windows. I forgot which brand though. It doesn't have that blueish hue that other tints have! :clap:

My cousin has the same tint by the same dude!

Yes. I left the rear windows stock.

20% is the perfect match for the truck.

My cousin has 20% on his too and it matches perfectly with his back windows.

There really is no need to tint it any darker. I think 20% is fine.

I don't really worry about the cops anymore.

TIP: The rear windows have a brownish color to them if you look at them closely. If you can find a tint shop that carries a tint with a brownish color to it you will achieve a PERFECT match.

Nova, I take it you have the Pinnacle tint from FormulaOne(Ceramic) ?

How is the heat rejection? Have you compared it to a regular tinted window?

3 back windows 5% and front two 13%. First thing that got done to my truck was the tint ahahah. I dont have the brand of tint but its something like HPC or HPE

Passenger window was rolled down.

I left the stock tint alone and put 25% on the sides. It is very close to perfect match while not freaking out the cops. I figured a good compromise. Whatever you do make sure you use a metallic tint and not a dyed one.

Me too.

Metallic tints cause interference with radios and navigation systems.

Metallic tints don't have a negative effect on Tacomas but on BMWs and other luxury cars they do because their antennas are embedded in the damn rear window! :lol:

x2 I just called around for prices saw what they had for tint. Made sure it was that ghetto purple looking crap and that it had a warranty againstly bubbling or peeling. Done.

I always roll tinted no matter what.

 

How much are you guys paying? The shops around here charge about $75 to do both of the front side windows.

There are places that charge $50-60 for the 2 fronts and $110 for a sedan.

They do a terrible job though.

The shop that lifted my truck charges $120 for 2 windows.

I don't mind paying $90 because he has tinted every car I have owned and he does a GREAT JOB. He knows me by first name and I bring him a SHIT LOAD of people.

He is a one man operation so I need to support!

 

Yeah, we have some part-time guys around here that will do the fronts for $50 and the rears for $40. But I don't trust their work, or products.

 

I pulled into his shop the day after I purchased the truck. I said how much to tint 2 sides. He said $60. I said when? He said now. I said do it.

 

I paid $80...here's my tint. Not that best pictures it's an overcast day. But you can get the idea. I forget what % it is, but it is technically "illegal" in Mass. :lol:

 

My Toyota truck doesn't have tint, but the Chevy does...

This picture is about 2 years old, but the tint still looks the same. It's illegal where I live but after almost 4 years of owning the truck, I've never been hassled.

I am getting my front side windows tinted Tuesday to hopefully match the back side windows.They want $125 for just the 2 front windows.And to boot they just use the paper I think.
