TPMS Tire Pressure monitor system kit for 2020 Corolla LE?

Saw a listing for a tire pressure monitor system, listing even has a (very simple) video showing a guy taking off the right side rear pillar, popping in a contraption as well as an extra supplied wire, snapping it back in, and now the front display will tell you (exact??) four tire pressures.

$23 plus $4 shipping.

Arguments for, against this? Not that accurate anyways?

Also their speedo displays in the listing look nothing like mine. My car is 2020 Corolla LE (gasoline, not hybrid).

I have never seen any tire display menus on my front monitor, therefore unsure if my car is even capable of this. (Listing says "your car must be capable of this system".) Will show a picture (taken from internet, not my car) of how my speedometer looks.

I have that on mine. But I have an XSE. This won't work on yours. It also doesn't read in PSI, so you have to do the conversion. I also have this one from Amazon that works well:

Yah the conversion thing would be a major drawback, but with safety being a factor I guess I could somehow "learn to live with it", perhaps. But I take it that neither of these systems (the ali one nore the amazon one you showed) would work on my standard LE. Gotcha. Thanks!

Ah, ok.

Well, looks like there's external caps to be placed on the tire tubes at all times. Where I live, lowly street thieves steal absolutely anything they can, for a gag or even for a couple bucks to sell at the local "market", even just to trade for a couple cigarettes, or even just steal it and throw it away later. Still, I'll check this out more, nonetheless. (Edit: or you could just put them on when you need them, on the highway and such).

I noticed a few of the review pictures (as tiny as they are) did seem to possibly show the same dash screen I have, but they didn't indicate if they were in fact LE or not.

Not quite sure I catch your last point -- would the four tire numbers even show up on my model? Have never seen this layout on my screen so I'm not sure why it would suddenly appear later. And I can't figure out why they would not line up even if they did begin to appear. Thanks, though.

I was looking at other listings for the same item sold by different sellers.

On this listing there are two reviews showing the basic gauge cluster: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mO46LWG

That said, one of the other listings says it won’t work with that cluster so who knows. If only I had a buddy with a lower trim level I could plug mine into and try it: https://a.aliexpress.com/_msn8IEo

Messaged the seller yesterday. No response.

WolfApple, if I was allowed to hazard a guess, I'd think your SE model would likely work. When I was buying in '20, they seemed to make it clear that it was the LE and L models that were a lot more limited in various aspects, but the SE and above included plenty more capabilities. Just a hunch.

Jmoney, yes I noticed at least one, maybe two reviewers had the same speedometer cluster as mine. Thing is, 90% of those reviewers are in places like Lithuania and Brazil, or say their car is a station wagon, so I don't know if Toyota was making cars somewhat different for Lithuania and Brazil than for America. (i.e. capabilities / slight variations). I've never even seen a Corolla station wagon. Then there's one reviewer (Spain?) that sounded pretty harsh, saying something about having to totally deflate the tires, turn car on off 5 times, give the system time to register zero, then re-inflate. Seems like a few reviewers had some "difficulties."

Corolla Ts 180h ?!?!

I have all of these. To be honest, I'm never very satisfied with with tire gauges, seems they don't have an excellent fit over the valve end, they can occasionally fall half apart, and you can sometimes get variations in readings.

Ok, so you have many flimsy gadgets already, but not a trusty pressure gauge and a good air compressor... A $23 TPMS kit would just be another cheap gadget added to your arsenal.

I saw this thread about a month ago and I completely forgot about it until pdfaxe quoted it on another thread. I ended up asking the seller if it would work in my car, with a picture of the speedometer attached. He only replied "yes" (in chinese), so I decided to purchase it and try.

I received it today, and I can confirm it works in a US sedan. Here is my experience:
