Hey all,
I did a transmission swap in my 94 toyota camry, the new transmission was recovered from a vehicle that was flooded, so knowing that i drained all the fluid from both plugs on the bottom and changed the filter and seals ( axle, and transmission main seal), got a new torque converter then started to put everything back together, and added new fluid, after everything was back together, i started the car let it ran for about 30 seconds and then turned it off and added fluid until it reached the appropriate level, then i put the car in reverse and the car operated fine in reverse i let it go for about 15 feet back, then i put it in drive and it went about 15 feet forward, i then put it back and park and let the car idle, to check for leaks and to make sure it was cooling properly, then i turned it off, and started to clean up the work area so i could take it for a test drive, when i got back in the car started it and put it in reverse all i heard was a grinding noise, and the car wont move, but the speedo starts to rise as if i was driving the car so i put it n neutral and the grinding stop and then i put it in drive and heard the same grinding noise and the speedo starts to rise, so i put it in park and turned the car off but now the park doesn't engage the car rolls freely in any gear, if anybody could help me i would greatly appreciate it
oh i forgot to add, even tho the car is still and not moving if i put it in gear then try to put it back in park i hear the park trying to engage as if somebody trying to put it in park while the car was in motion and then in does engage, so im assuming that the output shaft is spinning, but still no power to the wheels, and like i said even when in park the car can roll i have to pull the ebrake up to keep it still
