Transmission shifting badly after replacing tension pulley arm

I need someone familiar with engine timing and transmission. I can replace parts, no formal training, I just use the manual. I replaced the tensioner pulley arm due to pulley chatter/ loud ticking. Tear down is fan, shroud, belt, alt, and ac compressor. All came out and went back in fine. All electrical is plugged back in. Now the engine is bucking when I try to accelerate. I push the gas at a stop and the truck lurches forward. When I pull up to a red light the engine slows down to a point then hard shifts and shakes the whole truck. It’s the electrical system, I’m sure of it. But have I completely screwed up my signals going to the transmission? It also doesn’t want to go over 45 and has stalled a few times.

No codes, battery is fine. I think I messed up the operation of the torque converter. The vehicle is having trouble transitioning from stopped to moving and from moving to high speed. Engine seems to be fine. I just don’t understand how the belt tension could cause so much trouble in the transmission. I was hoping someone that does transmission rebuilds might know.

This is the belt tensioner we’re talking about? Yeah, should have nothing to do with the transmission. Something else is going on. You double check that the belt is routed correctly on the pulleys? You check that all sensor wires are connected. I believe the crank position sensor is down there somewhere. But, that would throw a code … might be time to take it to a good diagnosis shop. No oil or ATF drain was also done at the same time?

Update..the vehicle is now shifting into neutral for a second or two while accelerating at around 30. It does the same thing in reverse. It starts to reverse, I feel it shift, no gears and the gas just revs the engine, then catches and continues to reverse. I can still feel the driver adapted electrical system trying to gear up and gear down, then neutral/no gears, then catches and drives again. Engine code came on for transmission control solenoid. So I’m burning solenoids, next I’ll be burning clutches. …what on earth is happening in my electrical? I know the driver adapted transmission control is trying to work. I can’t find anything unplugged.
Anyone know what I’m talking about here that would like to chime in? It doesn’t help me if you’re going to tell me it can’t happen or to take it to a shop. Looking for knowledge here.

I've been following this thread but I lack the knowledge to help. Nothing is making sense. My advice was gonna be take it to a reputable shop. Sorry.

But I am curious about your problem, and I bet I'm not the only one. So -- when you get it figured out, please let us know. Spread the knowledge. Thanks.
