I have a complaint on my Rear Trunk Lid, it is heavy and it does not want to raise up quick. Ended up banging my head, thinking after you shove it, it will lift up! NOT! Anything I can do to it? Does this mean the spings have to be replaced?

Do other folks see this, too?

Thanks.

Mine doesn't pop up anymore...I actually have to use additional supports for it....consequences of putting a TV in your trunk

That's the point, mine barely opens up, you would think it has not popped. It actually sticks to the rubber gasket. Had to spray armour all to free it up.

I guess the springs can be replaced, but since it is an older car, what to replace with? I wonder if they ever got complaints on this issue.

Mine, you would not know when it has popped on not. This is the silliest thing. Most of the time, you try to pop it and it is still lock, yeah, and you have created this huge scratch........shitty!

Sometimes, you put in a lot of force and the darn thing bops and closes quick, hitting your hands or your forehead.....tell you what, it pisses me off...

Any suggestions?

My Honda does not do that!

American cars are the best for trunks.....that's all they are good on....

Put a wing on it and it wont open at all when you pull the lever! :yikes:

I can't beleive I have to open my trunk all the way by myself.... :whatthe: Good thing there is no room to put anything in there... ;)
 I sneak my trunk open because i don't want anybody to see my subs. :p:
I'm glad it doesn't fly open like american cars.

Seriously, I just think you're being lazy.
:werd:
If it "bops" and comes back, then keep your hand on it until it's fully open and not just hit it.
Either you're pretty lazy or there is a real problem and you're whining so much that we are having trouble understanding.

Most trunks on american cars suck. Most dont open from the inside of the car.

Mine open half an inch too! I think it is unnecessary to open itself. I mean... it not that heavy. Btw, I was at Costco parking lot last year and I saw a person stand too close to the trunk lid, his friend release the trunk in the car and BANG!! The lid hit his head. I can hear the noise too!

Mine stopped opening after I laid 2 layers of dynamat on it. Solution? Well I am lazy so I wanted it to open by itself. I went to my local junkyard and got a gas strut off a honda civic hatchback. It was like $5 then I bolted the bracket to the back of the trunk and the ball joint end to the trunk hinge arm. Now it pops open very nicely. It is fully hidden as well due to my system which takes up the entire trunk.

If you look very closely you can see the top of the strut in the first picture. It is on the left hinge.
