Up 74% for the states. Still below the projected rate of 200K/year (that would be about 16,700/month).

*By straight numbers, it's 62.2%, but this site figured in the difference in sales days.

The Scions are doing very poorly compared to last year.
Yeah I didn't realize there was not an 07 model of the XA and Xb, which is why they arn't doing so hot right now, not many out there. I was just checking out the XB on Scion's website and the mileage for the 08, is 22/28, I was disappointed to find out it was so low. I know it's a lot more powerful and the 08 EPA brings it down, but I thought it would be at least close to the 06. It got 28/34 didn't it? Maybe once I see other 08 models MPG figures I won't think it's as bad, but that kind of knocked it off my radar for a commuter.

They don't make the Xa and Xb right now??? So, there's an '06 model and will be an '08 model? That's strange.

As far as fuel mileage for the Xb, it is a box, not exactly aerodynamic :D

You are on the right track. The previous gen xB and xA were discontinued for the 07 model year. The tC is the only one to have an 07 model year and now the refreshened 08 model is out or is coming out soon. The new xD and xB are 08 model year cars. They were specifically made for the U.S. were's the previous gen models are imported directly from the Japanese market versions (of course modified for U.S. specs). Although the xD rides on a modified Yaris platform and the new xB is based on the tC platform, I believe.

Anyway, good to hear Tundra sales are up, but I don't know why you put such news on a Toyota board??

^^^ What he said. :) Companies do that sometimes though, think back about the Corvette, there is no 83 model, it went from 82 to 84.

I know it's a box, but the last gen had good MPG numbers, I guess because it had such little power. I wonder with the XD's numbers will be, I think it's not coming out for another month or two.

^^^I believe the xD will come out in September if I remember correctly. I'm guessing the xD will have slightly better mileage than the xB, since it is lighter (guessing) and smaller and has a small engine, which I know there is more to it for great mpg but those are some of the factors.

Yeah, the previous gen xB shared the same engine as the ECHO, xA, Yaris (previous gen overseas) etc as well as platform. It (previous gen xB) was heavier but not that much more than the ECHO, same with the xA so there mpg numbers were down a little but not much, and I'm sure there were some people who got amazing mileage in the previous gen models regarless. Whew! Sorry for the novel. I"m just an auto geek...or just a geek:lol:

The xB no longer uses the 1.5 liter engine. It now has the 2.4 liter engine found in the tC and Camry. That is why the mpg went down. Its because of the bigger displasement engine. Not so much of the boxy shape.
