turbo problem

What's up. We recently did an engine swap with my MR2. I had a 91 turbo, but got in an accident. I bought a 92 NA and swapped the engine in. Now heres the problem. The turbo now spools up as soon as I begin to accelerate. Before it would begin to spool up normally around 3000 rpms. Its great for racing because I'm flying off the line, however for daily driving it's putting alot of wear on the turbo. Has anybody had this problem before? If yes, did you solve it and how? Thanks

I don't ever remember hearing the turbo at all until 3000. It even spools in reverse.

do u have an aftermarket boost guage??...

my turbo also spools up in reverse...never noticed it till I had to repalce the MAF sensor though...if you are located in the GTA I would say your best bet would be to get in contact with Yoshio @ japanese automotive...man is a freakin Genius !

Yoshio is probably one of the best, if not the best. He does stuff right the first time and doesn't even have to check if it works because it does work.

As a matter of fact we installed an aftermarket boost gauge during the swap. So your cars do the same thing? I guess its cool then.
By the way I think you all have put together some very nice rides.

I used to make peak torque at 3200RPM with my stock turbo.
