[UPDATED REVIEW] Seicane 10.1" Headunit - SPOILER: It still sucks, but a little less.

They don't include mounting brackets, or any way to attach mounting brackets, they just want you to use plastic snaps (that it doesn't even snap into) to secure it to the dash). Also, the wire harness they send doesn't allow steering wheel controls to work. Backup camera does not work, either. Their support has been a nightmare to deal with.

I'm filing a paypal dispute to try and get a refund now. If you were considering this head unit, don't.

The harness they sent definitely does not match the one in their instructions, but their support refuses to acknowledge that or try to assist. It's definitely a gamble going with them.

I'm still going through with my paypal dispute because the SWC and backup camera don't work with the harness they sent and they don't seem interested in sending the right one.

I think that it all a matter of communication. They don't understand the problem. Send them as many photos as you can and try to explain to them the situation. Explain to them that you are a member of a large community and if they do not fix the problem they will loose a lot of sales.

Fortunately I can buy this locally and have them install it. It will cost me about 100 euros more but I will let them worry if something will not work.

That's definitely part of it. The other part is due to the time difference and how slow they are to respond, you literally get one email a day from them. That's it. It makes troubleshooting damn near impossible, especially when the 1 email you receive from them was them asking a question that I had already answered (with a picture) in the previous email I had sent them.

In my line or work I work all the time with our Eastern brothers. I have learnt that due to the time difference it is best to contact them via skype. this way you can have a good chat with them and provide proof of the problem in a few minutes that would require days with emails going back and forth.

Huh never seen how the back of the unit looks. Thanks for posting this. So it is a single din system.

Guess I'll wait for the new one Sony is releasing in December that includes Android Auto

The Sony was my first mental comparison when I saw this. The single din on this car was kind a shocker. But it opens it up this Sony.

Yeah, the training doesn't work because the harness that carries the SWC control wires doesn't have anywhere to connect on the harness they sent. I'm going to have to tap them manually if i want.

Dispute is going well, looks like I'm getting a full refund and getting to keep the head unit since they won't provide a prepaid shipping label and PayPal won't hold me responsible for return shipping costs as a result of a falsely advertised product. Should have final word in the next day or so.

I know one thing for sure, most Corolla Sport (Hatchback) in Asia are sold with aftermarket headunit. When you buy the car new, there is just a hole there with exposed wiring and it's up to the dealer to sell and install one.

Roughly about USD$600 for that 10" unit.

Who is requiring the unit back? PayPal or the manufacturer?

That is the risk we take anytime we buy from a source country like China. Takes the slow boat and difficult to resolve issues. Hit or miss on quality.

Pretty sure your solution will be cheaper and better than the manufacturers.

Manufacturer is requiring i send it back for the refund and paypal is supporting them in that. I've got no problem senidng it back if they send me a prepaid shipping label. For paypal to expect me to come out of pocket though is absurd. Oh well, lesson learned, and i'll learn a little more about wiring in the process. ?
