Upgrading 2013 SE to dual-zone climate and entune

I have a bare 2013 SE (just with the power seat option) and would like to have automatic climate control and the entune audio system. Does anybody have experience going from a display audio to an entune head unit in an SE? I know I will need to add a GPS antenna for the GPS to work, but will I be missing any of the other features/connectors on the back of the entune unit? Same question regarding going from the manual climate control to auto/dual-zone.

Here is what I would be looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Toyota..._Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model:Camry|Year:2012&hash=item2c781c2a66&vxp=mtr

entune can be done quite easily. dual climate control will be much more difficult. there are temperature sensors and a wiring loom.

Not to mention, to do it right and have it look factory, you will need a different steering wheel and a different clockspring.

Anything is possible with enough money. Keep in mind, though, that with this months incentives, you will probably spend less in the long run by trading your car in and negotiating an invoice deal on a 14.

I was going to do build a S13, 89' 240sx, when I got back from Japan. One of the things I was going to do was Auto control HVAC. I had to get alot of stuff from under that dash. Almost every single thing that had to do with the A/C had to be replaced with parts form a 180sx or silvia of the same gen. Im talking about various sensors, harnesses, the blower, some other small random parts. some of the venting, not to mention the obvious control unit. It was pretty easy to get because people would part out their cars before they left to go back to the states. They would take the various racing and upgraded parts and I would be able to take the niche stuff. Things that only Asia model cars have. I knew what I needed because people back in the states did it and posted on forums what was needed. So to find a 12' and above that you could rip the parts out of and to know what parts you need would be difficult.

Hate to bust your bubble, but adding dual a/c is next to impossible. To do that, ur vehicle would require 2 condenser units (to set two different temps) and your camry comes with only one. The other factor in regards to adding entune is that your vehicle is not wired for entune data. You could add the head unit, but adding the necessary wiring to make everything function would require purchasing oem wire looms and changing your steering wheel to one that has the voice control option. This is would be an extremely challenging DIY.

yep-but the steering wheel doesn't need to be done. There is someone on here who did entune with nav and it was pretty straightforward. There isn't much in the way of wiring that needs to be done if you don't do the steering wheel. If you want full function and factory look, you need the headunit, gps antenna, wiring loom, clockspring, steering wheel, maybe upper steering column.

Like I said, now there is $1750+ back on Camry plus 0% for 60. If you get even close to book on trade and invoice on the new car, you'll likely save yourself money buying a new car.

Wholesale is market dependent. Any dealer that tells you otherwise is full of shit. Trade on a 12 camry se with 11500 miles in western pa right now is around 15.5k-16.5k. If you sell private party you lose your ass in tax equity-paying sellers tax in many states, plus having to pay the sales tax on the back side as well. In some states you lose up to $2000 in tax equity. So if you sell privately or to carmax or webuyanycar, and you sell for 1000 more than trade, you are still losing money over the course of the note(unless your state has compounded interest for auto loans, but I don't know of many that do).

I know for a fact I can trade my car right now, walk away in a 13 v6 and lower my payments without restructuring my original deal and paying invoice for the new. I won't because I just don't care that much, but if you negotiate well, you should easily be able to save a good bit over buying and installing all the stuff for entune/DCC.

Ben r-this is maybe what you missed about this thread. OP wants to install 2000+ dollars worth of factory equipment in his car. The reality is that he will spend less by just buying a new car than by buying and installing all the tech equipment.

$16k for a 2012 camry with less than 15K miles?

In my area, a 2012 SE 4cyl w/ 23.5k miles is asking price of $21,900...

another 2012 SE 4cyl w/ 12.3k miles is asking price of $20,900...

and just for fun another 2012 SE 4cyl w/ 6.2k miles is asking price of $20,800...

All of those are more $ than you can get a brand new base SE for (and more than I paid for my new one in 2012!)...so on those numbers, what do you guys think the dealers will realistically let those cars go for?

Yea, true, I would rather spend the extra $2.5-5K and get a brand new one lol...unless I get an absolute steal on a $28k Camry, low miles, for a steal of a price.

Wow thanks for all of the replies guys. I can see now that dual zone climate definitely wouldn't be worth it. Entune on the other hand might be worthwhile with the units selling on eBay for $400. I could turn around and sell my Display Audio unit for $150 and still be in the green. What connections would I be missing if I just swapped in an Entune unit (aside from the GPS antenna).

^people have done that before, but its never fully functional. One person couldn't get the tire pressures to show up right and another persons fuel economy screen wouldn't show anything. None of those two people every actually activated entune either, so they didn't have the Entune app suite.

I replaced my 2013 XLE Standard Display Audio with an Entune/Nav (non-JBL) from a 2012. I have not yet attempted to activate Entune. All wiring necessary is already included. The only issue the VIN activation for Entune. I wired the GPS antenna and placed it under the center speaker cover. GPS works great. My 4 wheel tire pressure and Fuel Economy gauges all work as designed.

I upgraded my 2012 LE to dual-zone climate and entune and it was not cheap. I also got heated leather seats and review camera and I even changed to color from red to blue.

Dang thats a lot of changes! All that and I would definitely have just bought a new one lol. How did you change to color from red to blue?
