It's just power, so it ought to work. Those ports can supply up to 3 amps, so it shouldn't even be a capacity problem.

You'll have to figure out if it's the port, the cable, or the phone. I'd try another USB-C cable, and I'd also try another phone and see if it will get power. It's possible the fuse is blown, making the port inactive.

A quick Google search revealed that the A53 requires 5 amps at 5 volts for Fast Charging, so it could be a power output issue. The Highlander goes up to 3 amps as mentioned earlier.

To test that theory, you can go to Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery > More Battery Settings and turn off Fast Charging. Then see if it will charge with the Highlander.

Nope, didn't work.

The 12V charging adapter I have has 2 USB-A ports rated 2.4 & 2.1 amps and charges my Samsung A53 phone fine in the 12V adapter (cigarette plug) whether set to "Fast Charging" or not. The 3.0 amp output on the Toyota USB-C port should charge it. The Toyota tech did check the output of the USB-C ports and it was 5V but only microamps of current to the Samsung A53 phone but does charge my old LG G7 ThinQ phone with no problems. Also, the the USB-A audio port, that Toyota states in the owners manual is not designed to charge phones, does charge my Samsung A53 phone. However if I use it, I can not play music from my MP3 player.
