Reading mixed reviews of using an Apple Airtag or Tile to keep track of a key fob.
Anybody given one of them a try?

I saw that but didn't get the details, thinking they must have put the tag on a vehicle they wanted to track it home. The tags really don't have much range so it'd be like hide n seek.
What's really irrattating it's for my BMW, they have a credit card size digital key as well as apps for smartphones. Bought htis one used and couldn't get them to work. Contacted BMW tech and they looked up the custom build sheet from the original owner. They decided that they didn't need that feature and deleted it from the build, $330 bucks on a $72k car.
So that's why I'm attempting to be creative since she travels solo to see family regularly.
If she misplaces or looses the fob there'd be a decent chance she'd could to find it.

On my first read of your question, I didn’t understand it bc I don’t use AirTag and I’ve not heard of “Tile”.
I revisited your post today to see what, if anything, has been discussed and if others have something to offer.
Me personally re FOBS, I’ve gotten in the habit of turning off the FOB’s proximity sensor whenever I leave the vehicle. Still waiting for my second FOB but have the metal key that goes into it.
