I have a '92 and I was wondering if you could put a V Tech engine in it and the prices for it. If not, what other engines could you put in it and other things to make it faster with approximate price tags. I'm not that good into cars and was just curious.

You could put a Honda engine into your car, but you would be the bastard child of the automotive world.
The Toyota group would shun your Honda motor, and the Honda crowd would shun your Toyota car.
Plus you can do much better by simply putting a built 4AG(T/Z)E in there.

you would possibly need a whole front clip of a honda car. you'll need basically everything on the front clip. engine, harness, axles, engine support, sensors and maybe even the ones under the dash. it would be an unbelievably hard task/swap to do without all the parts you need. and you need a good honda/toyota mechanic.

SpeedballTrix... i guess you haven't seen the F22C powered AE86s eh? :naughty: :whatwhat:

No no no no no no no TORNADO AIR SYSTEM and other stuff like that = NOOOOO!!!!

Sorry, just had to get that out.
Just search the forum for "tornado" or whatever they are called.

Secondly, do you mean VTEC, as in Honda engines with variable valve timing? There are many, specify which you intend to work with. Saying you want a VTEC engine in your car cause VTEC is fast is the same thing as being a ricer.

What we are trying to say here is there are much better (Toyota) choices that can be swapped way more easily than an engine from a Honda that will give you decent power. You can go with a 4A-GZE or a 4A-GE 20 valve for example.

No offense man, but I wouldn't believe everything you hear.

Maybe you should do a little research before asking questions out of left field. There is plenty of information on the net, without going on message boards and giving us guys a good laugh.

im not sure why youd want to, everyone is in the know in terms of honda, but few are in the know on toyota'
s, and thats whats cool about them, im assuming this 92 is a corolla, and that it has a 4A-F(E) engine in it if this is the case then id do some more reasearch try

4A-GE 's
4A-GE 20v silvertop and blacktop
4A-GZE
7A-FE

these are stock production engines in the US and Japan (JDM) that will bolt straight in

in addition there are things like;

7A-GE hybrid
7A-FE turbo
4A-GE turbo
4A-GE 20v turbo

and these are just options that come straight to mind ....

Also in MY opinion some toyota engines bring alot more to the table then there honda counter parts but that is entirely MY opinion

:hammer: To the VTEC's. Get a silvertop and stop posting about vtec's. You the one who was all excited about the new civic post that was on here couple weeks ago, go post the stuff on a civic board and get off ours.

wow.. to ALL of yous that think the 20V can spank a B16, welcome back to 1999. wake up and smell the burnt rubber. why do you think toyota over exaggerate the hp ratings of the 20Vs? i for one own a 2nd Gen 20V ST, it has decent power from mid-high but it's not as agressive as a B16. i don't want to argue here but bashing the B16 motor or any honda motor just shows how little you know about them. i drive both honda and toyota so i'm not gonna say one is better than the other coz the both have pros and cons. i agree that most B16 powered honda owners think they're the hawtness but making fun of a guy the basically came out "saying he doesn't know anything" is no better. suddenly TN became the hub of automotive experts.. wow! :ugh3:

stock for stock B16>20V **micro puts flamesuit on!** :D

Why does it need to be locked? I've never posted here before crockdaddy. I asked a simple question, got an answer that Vtecs are stupid to put in and get a toyota engine. I then asked for price ranges since I haven't received any.

I only wanted a newer engine with some power and some price ranges so I know what to save up for, I didn't want to be flamed for being a VTec head when I only heard something and wanted to ask people who were experienced in toyotas for their opinion.

Like I said.. If you wanted a VTEC motor.. you should've bought a Honda. Plain and simple, it be easier for you to put a VTEC motor in a Honda than it is in a Toyota.

If you want a put a motor in your Toyota, there's lots of Toyota motors out there that would be an easier option than what you're thinking of doing. There's a wide range of 4AGEs out there that would be a straight swap into your car, on top of that there's always the 3SGTE swap from either a Celica ALL-TRAC or an MR2 Turbo that would also work providing you have a FWD transmission for it and custom motor mounts.

Don't ask a dumb question and expect not to get flamed for it, that's always a rule of thumb. I'm sure the same thing would probably happen if you went into a Honda forum and told them you wanted to put a 4AGE into your Civic.
