Several months ago when we bought our Highlander AWD Limited, our quest for the best performing and best looking Window Vent Visors started. We immediately bought the inchannel vent visors and those were awful...they down right upset my wife every time she used the windows. The reason...when the window is being rolled up the window barely taps the vent visors in the same channel and the window automatically goes down. I tried every thing and one day I ripped them off and threw $60 essentially into the trash can. So for a few months we lived with out them until a few hot spells hit the Bonney Lake, WA area. My search began again.

I found these very nice looking Window Vent Visors on Ebay..

Here is the auction:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OE-Style-Fi...its=Make:Toyota|Model:Highlander&hash=item1a13f1087f:g:CFwAAOSwX~dWqx4Z&vxp=mtr

The buy it now is $39.99 but I offered him $33. Then counter offered at $35 and we settle for $35.99.

I got the window deflectors yesterday. The fit is good, and I really like how they have the chrome piece integrated into the vent visor. Very Happy with these and no more hassle of the window. Installation was easy. We cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol, removed the 3m tape and aligned the visors, installed....and stood back and took these pictures.

I installed similiar sometime ago, but didn't see (at the time) one like yours with chrome look strip across top. Nice touch for sure. Tnx.

I researched this to death until I decided to just buy a set of inchannel visors. Just like many reviews, weather it was for AVS or Weathertech, they all said the inchannel made the window retract or close very slowly. The positives about the inchannel ones is they looked my sleek.

These ones are just as nice, and you don't have to worry about any window not working properly. And at 1/3 the price, this to me was a no brainer.

I got the Weather Tech makes and they are a bit of pain to install, but they kinda look gimmicky when there is technically no weather/no rain.
It hardly rains here, and venting the window with or without these makes no difference in the heat. So I took mine off.

I was trying to remember what they call these plastic window things as I was asking a friend if he ever used them...and he said "you mean the visors you see on Mexican cars?"....
I didn't know they was a specific ethnicity of people using them/?
(pretty racist, or at least stereo typical)

If I am going on an expected bad weather road trip I might put them on(if they are not making noise). Otherwise they are of no use for sunny states.
They might also increase wind noise/?

We use our vent visors to have the windows cracked about 2 inches and the sunroof open a few inches. That way the heat that rises exits the sunroof and any breeze circulates the air within the car. We lived in Alabama when we started using window vent visors. My gun metal gray Honda with black leather interior just got unbearably hot and the hot air in the car when first getting in was stifling.

So my mexican wife (LOL) suggested we buy the sunroof and window vent visors. When parked we install the windshield screen, open the sunroof a tad bit and slightly open the windows. This prevents us from having to open the doors or start the A/C for minutes prior to driving. So since then we have purchased the same items for all our vehicles.

It rains quite a bit here in the Pacific Northwest. So these have always come in handy whether its to have circulating air when it's raining, or to slightly cool the car down when parked.

LOL,
...I have for decades cracked the rear windows about a couple inches or so when parked without visors. Whats the advantage with the visors when there is no rain?
With visors, either the air is slightly restricted of any real flow, and, although I doubt it happens, but the insert type visor becomes removable with the window down on the rears.

When there is no rain...no advantage. When you are parked and it's raining in the heat, now thesee have advantages. Also, when driving in cool weather, 70 degrees there abouts, I can Crack my windown and not worry about A/C. Some would say just use A/C....when it hits 80 or higher I use A/C, 50-80 degrees when it drizzles or rains these work perfect.

MY 2016 HL has the ability to lower all four windows with a second press of the window down button. The second press is a long press until the windows are as open as you wish. This feature is in the manual. It must be programmed by the dealer. I had it done the week I bought the car. I only park about 30 feet from my front door but the car is cooled by the time I get there.

They can also program the number of times your turn signal flash when you use the passing feature. I increased mine to 7 flashes.

Got mine, Army. They blend in real well. No more worries of a spot shower popping up while I'm at work and have the windows cracked open to keep the temps down and the vinyl & plastic interior parts from off-gassing so much. Mine had two clips to for each visor to mount, but the clips didn't reach down far enough to line up with the pre-drilled holes in the visors so I just chucked the clips. Not worried cuz the 3m tape will hold just fine.

Those look great. I like how the Chrome continues along the top side of the visor to match the chrome around all the windows. Mine didn't have any clips. Just 3M tape and has been holding on strong, even in hot weather.

Two of my visors came cracked.. : (
The mail carrier didn't handle it as fragile as the sticker indicated...box was bend on the end (which cracked the two long front visor at the end)

Contacted the seller and said will resend it. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer before I can try mine out.
kudos to the ebay seller.

Got my replacement, shipped in a much more padded box.
Installed, looks great! The chrome strip made it look seamless to my Limited chrome.

Coincidentally it heavy rained the other day, and I've noticed there are these little air holes/vents on the visors, which some drops of rain got through.
Contemplating if I should close the holes up with a glue gun lol.

I do notice on other car's visor, some do have holes, and some don't.

Can u post pic.? Have used vent visors for many yrs on various vehicles incld. my HL & never seen anything like u describe? Sounds like factory defect? :dunno:

yea, exactly like that.
It's not big, not like hole punch size.
But big enough in a heavier rain for the rain drops to get through.

So I might just dab a drop of glue gun glue in the hole.

The hole's probably for better ventilation to dry the wet glass underneath.

Well Army's (ebay item "OE Style Fit Toyota Highlander 14-17 SMOKE WINDOW VISOR RAIN/SUN VENT SHADE"), does come with clips, which I didn't use them since I don't know where it would get clipped to, and I think the 3m would hold pretty well.

I don't think those holes are for the clips, they're placed in the middle of the visor, probably for ventilation.

So what good are they in dry and sunny weather some ask? Here's one advantage I have found. On a hot sunny day I can park in a lot with my windows cracked open a couple of inches and no one else will know because the top edge of the window is hidden by the vent. I have the Weathertech in dark tint.
