vsc engaging on corners on dry roads

I have a 2002 toy Sequoia. It is just getting ready to roll 200k. I had it in my local shop to get my shocks and front wheel bearings replaced. They also replaced part of the rack-pinion. I have had issues in the past with the vsc lights coming on and staying on until the car was turned off and turned back on. the dealership says they have dealt with this issue. So my new issue began when I picked my car up from the shop. When I would push the gas the car would stall and sputter. The vsc would also come on when I was turning corners or hit bumps. I took it to the dealership. They did another alignment to fix the sensor and said I would be good to go. Now whenever I drive on dry roads the vsc skid warning comes on. I loose power and have issues steering. I live in the mountains where there are no straight roads. Last night with my 5 children in the car this happened and I went off the road. I am by no means driving aggressively. Luckily I was on the bank side instead of the cliff side of the road. It was terrifying. The dealership and my local shop say that there are no codes on the computer.

Turn it off

Try pushing the vsc buttom on your dash to turn it off. It should also show up on your speedo cluster on the left side and say"vsc off " in orange.
I turn mine off in snowy conditions so I can make it up steep hills and when I want to kick out the backend and have fun in the snow.

I'm having the similar issue that the VSC light comes on every so often but I'm driving on dry roads. The last issue happened as I came to a stop after coming off the freeway. I stop at the top of the off ramp. Turned right, when the brake pedal started to vibrate like the anti lock system was activated and the power of the motor slowed. I wasn't driving fast as I had just left the stop sign. It cleared after i stopped near the curve. Turned the truck off and started the engine again. The problem with the VSC and the brakes cleared for about an hour. Then it happened again. Turning left this time going about 20 mph. Did the dealership offer you a legitimate answer to the problem?

I had a similar problem years ago. I had to have the Brake Booster replaced. It was still under warranty at the time (I think the part is about $900). No problems with random VSC and skid control issues since. BTW: It took Toyota a few trips to figure it out - Did not throw codes initially.

I hope this helps you guys!

Cheers,
