Im currently setting my 1989 Cressida for a manual swap, I found a guy parting out his 1JZ drift cressida and bought a clutch, flywheel, pedals, driveshaft, and a W55 transmission. I know that W58 fits the 7MGE (since it came on the supra) but I was wondering if the W55 is a direct bolt on?

Don't know for sure but they use the same bell-housings.

As long as you have the M bell housing, and the A70 supra shifter housing + lever arm, it'll bolt right in
The gearing will be slightly different so you'll end up shifting a bit earlier/more often around town, and highway cruising will have the engine revving a bit higher compared to the w58's 5th gear ratio.

Sounds like a great project. A full Supra 7M-GE conversion would also be useful with the ACIS installed. I'm not sure I would do it either, but the Cressida will have better low end power.
