Weather Tech or Husky Floor Liners?

Weather tech looks better but costs $250, ebay has the Huskey floor liners for $160.

I did have an "incident" with the mat. I left in the original Venza black carpet floor mat and put the WeatherTech mat over it (for further soundproofing). I washed the car one day and pulled the mats out to clean. While putting the WeatherTech mat back in, the tall sidewall did impinge on the accel. peddle. The next morning my wife got in and started up the car. The engine raced to 3500 rpm. She called me and I immediately left work. We called the Toyota hot line and they came out to tow the car in to the dealership.

Once there, I red-faced saw the problem. I pushed the WeatherTech mats up to the peddle and the highwall pushed the peddle down. I felt like sh)& and was very embarressed. I immediately cut off the corner to never let this happen again. Driver error on this one.. Duhhhh on my part. But still love the mats. Just gotta use your head.

OR you could follow the instructions from both Toyota and Weathertech and NOT USE ONE MAT ON TOP OF THE OTHER...soundproofing be damned. :headbang:

I have the Husky mats and choose them over the WeatherTech based on price. The fit isn't quite as good as the WT mats based on pictures that have been posted on this forum, but they are more than acceptable. When I pulled them out after the winter (to put in the carpet mats, the front carpet was spotless other that a few chunks of salt that managed to squeeze past the (small) gaps.

I found an e-bay seller who is selling for $90+37 shipping + taxes = $143.51

Thats a $100 savings over the weather tech.. here is some pics of the two that i've found online.. It looks like the front driver husky mat covers a bit better.. I'm tempted based on the price for sure!!!

ah i see this has been discussed quite a bit before..

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=310591&page=5

Think i'm going to go Husky based on the comments about the fuel door, holes for the pegs and the extra coverage for the dead pedal.

Edit - Just scored a set of open box husky mats from ebay.. $80 + $37 shipping plus tax about $120-130 canadian after exchange.. saved $120 on the weather techs... that can go to gas! :)

I know this has been discussed before, and it seems like the majority recommend the DigitalFit liner that WeatherTech makes. I'm still not clear, though, what does the liner do that the mats don't? Are there any folks that have the mats and now wish they had gotten the liner? If so, why?

Thanks much!

I just got a Venza on Monday and I have the digital fit liners by weathertech in it. I had them in my Corolla and loved them. They are far superior to the mats as they cover the side walls as well and keep the snow, salt, slush away from your carpet.

The digitalfit ones are molded and fit inside the well...you could pour a whole cup of coffee into them and not have it overflow onto the carpet.
The rear passenger is a one piece that even protects the tunnel carpet where some folks rest their feet...especially kids.
Had them in my Tundra for years as well.
I'll never go back.
Your not making a mistake by buying the regular mat's...I've had those too...Prefer digitalfit myself...Just my .02 cents.

I first bought the Husky ones to save $$$$ over the even more overpriced DigitFit Weathertechs. Brought them back right away after opening box and paid the extra for Digitfits - they are better in looks and material texture feel (even though Husky guarantees for life ???)
What insanity paying so much for mud/snow mats.

There is no question that WeatherTech Liners are expensive. If you are looking at $129, then take a look at Husky WeatherBeater Liners. They will be $129.99 for the front and rear liners for the Venza. Liners will always offer you better protection than standard mats.

Here are some pictures of these liners installed in a Sienna (for reference):

We humans are a funny breed. If our Venza's came with a vinyl rear mat as standard we would bitch they were too cheap to put carpet. They put carpet then we bitch we got to spend a fortune for a weathertech mat.
The only thing that has not gone down in price in basic needs and necesitees in life ( TV, appliances) are cars - we are willing to pay increases for that necessity right thru the roof. The game here is also as the car ages they make the parts and repairs so expensive that the car is written off even before the rust sets in 7 yrs.
But I love my Venza .......
