Hi. I need to get a brake load sensing valve linkage to the mechanics for replacement to pass the vehicle test. However, I am not sure what it is
and the mechanics can't show it to me properly as it is under the car (the car is on the road). Anyone has any idea or picture of this part? Thank you.

I am guessing that you have a pickup? The valve is mounted somewhere above the rear-end of the truck, on the right side maybe (not sure), so it will change the brake bias if you load the truck down, a little more to the rear brake when it is loaded down.

I am not sure if you can get just the linkage by itself; it might also be something from the dealer only.

Guess I should have read the forum heading.:naughty:

The picts in the link show something similar:

Sorry for posting again. After reviewing the image you posted (coloured and very clear) and when compare to the one posted in http://www.autozone.com/shopping/rep...00c1528008a58f which is for toyota previa, I think they are not the same. Is the image you posted
for Toyota Previa or for a different car?

The one on my car was deemed defective by my mechanic and hence need to be replaced before he can pass my vehicle test. The fault is "brake load sensing valve linkage defective".

Thanks, I need more clarifications

Thanks for the great picture. I have done some searches and got to
made some request online for purchase purposes. However, there is
a site that have detailed instructions repair guide on a proportioning valve for Toyota Previa. That site is http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c1528008a58f.

When I tried the spare parts website search, the nearest item I can find is
known as a brake compensator valve for Toyota Previa. This is confusing.
So are they all the same i.e. brake load sensing valve (the term my mechanic used), Proportioning or Brake Proportioning Valve and Brake Compensator Valve. I don't want to buy the wrong part because the item
costs about GBP50 (USD100). I intend to print all the pictures I can gather
and consult my mechanic again but I would welcome any opinion on this.

What is wrong with the one on the vehicle anyway?

I can't tell you much about the names, different people will call the same part differently; the location of the part may help in clarifying when you place your order. The one discussed on the link you had provided is the same as the one you needed, and they do called it the proportioning valve. Actually that was a better picture than the one I had found.
