Get the OEM fluid at the dealer, Amazon or an online dealer that sells oem toyota parts at a discount. Yeah it's more expensive but the original fill is good for 100k and then each one after is good for 50k. Don't confuse break reservoir with coolant containers. Brake fluid is clear to golden in color and coolant is pink. Both coolant reservoirs take the same coolant. One is for the engine and the other is for the inverter/converter of the hybrid system. I wouldn't feel comfortable using aftermarket fluid on the hybrid side.

My car has driven 170k miles and my coolant (pink) is now on the "low" line. I may need to add some coolant. It costs $170 to replace the coolant in the garage. I am now more confused about the need to replace or just add a bit. Because it may only cost 10-20 US dollars if added.

Yes, one is engine coolant and one is inverter/motor generators coolant. Standard Toyota high mileage coolant. None special.

 

What you mean is that although there are two cooling liquid systems and two cooling liquids are stored, the same standard cooling liquid is used. Is that right?
