What Wiper Blades Do You Use?

I was thinking about trying a set of the Valeo Ultimate wiper blades from TireRack because they are buy one get one free, but I wanted to make sure that frameless blades will fit well on these cars.

What brand/model wiper blades are you folks having good results with? Have any of you tried the aforementioned Valeo Ultimate blades?

Thanks!

I have not had much luck with the frameless blades. I tried the RainX Latitude blades on my car but took them back the next day. They came out of the box chattering to high heaven. The only frameless blades that I've been half-way impressed with where the Michelin ones at Wal-Mart. But they didn't last any longer than any other blade I've had.

My favorite wipers are the regular Michelin wipers at Wal-Mart. $7 apiece, in stock, no shipping, no waiting. Less than $15 out the door and you're done. They'll likely last you at least a year. I have 'em on my Corolla now (after I returned the RainX blades).

The Bosch Icon frameless blades did wonders for my car. No squeaking, streaking, or noise at all. Wipes the windshield spotless every time. They're $40 out the door but they last alot longer than the traditional metal backing ones. yeah they cost alot but other ones i've tried i had no luck with and i don't mind paying if it's good quality. Have had mine for a year and no problems so far:D

I've kind of run through the whole gammot of blades. First I started out with Anco's, then tried the lifetime warranted Tripledge, and then tried some other expensive type (don't even remember which ones, and now I'm back to the Anco's. I don't think it really matters what type you use as long as you replace them frequently.

i agree, i've started w/ anco's because they were cheap. i then went to pylons because they were cheaper. now i'm using valvoline silver ones i bought for $2 each (i like these the most because they're silent and much higher quality than other cheapo blades)

imo, it doesn't matter what wiper you buy as long as it gets replaces at least once a year. for me, the cheapest wiper + rainx washer fluid works best. i never have to turn my wipers on any setting faster than the intermittent , this includes big rain storms.

the only time i did buy a more expensive wiper was when i changed the wipers on my dad's car. he never replaces the wipers so i bought him the PIAA silicone ones. they don't work any better than the cheapo $2 valvoline ones but they supposedly last 2-3 years.

as for frameless wipers, i've never really had any use for those. i suppose they might be useful in places that get a lot of subzero weather?

Hey:
I've tried the Trico Neoform and Bosch frameless blades on my 05 XRS, and they work okay. Watch for sales and you can get a $10-20 rebate on a pair, or at least 20% off.

However, I put on some Michelin Hydroedge wipers a few days ago and they are the most quiet, smoothest, best-wiping wipers I've tried. They don't look as cool as the frameless but they were cheap and good.

Like Grampi said, change your blades regularly and they'll mostly all work well.

i bought them from Walmart and that was a mistake. I should have bought Michelin instead. Triple edge gets dirt stuck in between the so called edges and ruins the windscreen if you are not careful. I have my doubts about the quality of material used. Stick to single blade wipers, they are safer. I am presently using the Bosch Excel which I got from Autozone for about $22 for both sides.

I use wipers almost on daily basis with washer fluid filled up all the time. Since I do night time driving as well and hate glare my wipers get to be used regularly and replaced every 6 months, or when I feel they are not doing their job properly.

From what I remember average life of a wiper blade is somewhere between 6-12 months and is dependant on how much it is used and type of weather it is used in. Extreme weather conditions reduce the life of blades as well.

Just my 02 cents!;)

I avoid any wiper that isn't moderately heavy (like ones without a frame/reflex/2-point secure) and any that have a wrapping/enclosure around them. Its windy when its raining around here, and the last thing I want is a wiper chattering up the window, or missing parts of the window cause the wind is screwing with it.

Aside from that its mainly price... If the wiper conforms to the window 95% of them will work identical to the other one..

I will say that I have installed rain-x, (I think weatherbeater model) 6 months and counting through winter, and wiper has not left streaks, chattered, or smeared during some fairly nasty weather conditions.. no creams or sprays were applied to windshield. just road salt.

I've tried bosch=good, Rain-x=good, Michelin=bad(brand new and they vibrate against the windshield like they were worn out and a few years old and did a poor job wiping) A cheap no name brand from a Taiwan supermarket for $3 U.S and they are the best that I have used on my families cars and they were the frameless ones too!!
