What's YOUR maintenance schedule and why?

Some may want to stick with what Toyota recommends but I'm not a fan of 10k mile oil changes (especially early on) and "lifetime" transmission fluid, I also don't want to go too far in the other direction.

Oil will be about every 5k until Toyota does my 20k miles oil change then 7.5k mile OCI.
Transmission will be every 50k miles same with brake fluid.
Spark plugs at 100k and air filter every 20k.

What do you plan to do?

Subjective -adj. Dependent on or taking place in a person's mind rather than the external world.

So if we drive the same a good OCI interval for me is every 2k miles and 30k for you?

A proper maintenance schedule isn't subjective. One can make a compelling argument that a good part of the maintenance schedule leans "environmentally friendly" and not necessarily to provide longevity to the current owner. Lifetime transmission fluid isn't subjective.

Not going to lie but I'm still going 7k without an oil change. I paid for the prepaid maintenance schedule since it was pretty worth it and they told me they do oil changes 1st,3rd,5th visits. I questioned them on the oil and they told me that my levels were fine and in no real danger. I might end up just going back for the 3rd visit because I want my V6 to remain as healthy as possible.

I had some friends who didn't do their 1st oil change until 60k miles (I guess they also thought that the need for il changes was subjective) their car started smoking and consuming oil shortly there after, they found out that the consequences weren't subjective they were real.

I imagine that doing your 1st oil change at 10k is probably okay but why risk $20-35k, the 1st oil change you should expect to have a fair amount of wear after that an extended OCI "should " be fine.

Actually it's kind of my fault for not explaining properly. So I paid for a prepaid plan since it was a great deal. It includes oil change, break check, inspection of all kinds, filter change, etc but oil changes are done on 1st, 3rd, 5th visit. I purchased this when my car hit 44k miles. I went in for the first oil change at 49k and when I took my car in for service and detail they informed me that they did not do an oil change this time and explained how the service worked. So when I take it back in at 60k miles it will be done along with transmission fluid change and so forth. However, I guess I'm just sitting on the fact while it does state that synthetic oil can go from 6-8k miles with no issues, I'm more concerned on changing the oil at proper intervals. I do prioritize engine life but also just taking care of the car overall. I do not neglect service but just unsure if 10k oil changes are best suited or not.

I like to do the first oil change around 2k miles, to get the break in particles out of there. Then I usually go with 5k mile intervals. I pay for one, then I let Toyota pay for one. [emoji1]
I waited until about 70k miles on my 2009 Corolla XRS before a transmission fluid change. It felt like it was slipping a little. I was scared to do it because I’ve heard horror stories about replacing transmission fluid. It drove really well after, so no worries.
I’m not sure when I would do that with the Camry 8AT? And spark plugs before 100k if I keep the car that long.

I follow the toyota maintenance manual you can find on their website or in your glove box. I never do anything other than that. I used to do all the maintenance on my cars myself, but now to claim any kind of warranty work you need proof and documentation, so I straight up refuse to work on my cars if they are "new" ish.

I rotate and balance my tires every 5k miles at discount tire for free - included in purchase price of my tires.
I do an alignment every 5k miles - I got the 250$ life time alignment at firestone.
Oil and filter change every 10k miles as per owners manual at the local toyota dealer. I use the 34.99 synthetic oil change coupon on my dealers website every time.
Clean and reoil my K&N filter every 10k miles - This is pretty convenient, and I have it on all my cars. One cleaning kit for 4 cars is only 10$ and lasts like 10 cleans each.
I have yet to change these on a toyota: Spark plugs, break fluid, breaks, hoses, fuel stuff, trans fluid, etc. Pretty damn reliable.

Out of warranty recently my dealer told me I needed to top up my break fluid. No, you don't. Its a 40k mile car. The break fluid is not leaking, and its normal when the break is engaged to have lower fluid than when its not engaged. I swear these mechanics these days are retarded. If you keep toping it up you will find out its a bad idea when you go to replace your pads and all of the excess overflows when you compress the piston. Also, the top up would cost me 100$. What TF?

Wash my car and wax every weekend. I use meguires hybrid ceramic wax since its quick and easy and is enough basic protection.
